How It Works
Hash & Package Evidence
All relevant data and metadata are first normalized into a canonical format, ensuring consistency across diverse systems. Cryptographic hashes are then computed to generate tamper-proof fingerprints of the evidence. These hashes, combined with descriptive claims, form the immutable basis of the verifiable credential. At this stage, evidence is packaged and securely handed to the credential issuer, preparing it for the issuance pipeline while preserving its integrity from the very first step.
Issue Credentials
Once evidence is packaged, the system issues credentials signed with a Decentralized Identifier (DID) that represents the issuing organization. Selective-disclosure policies are applied, allowing holders to reveal only the attributes strictly required for verification (such as proving authenticity without exposing sensitive details). Public registries, including anchoring and revocation lists, decouple issuance from verification, ensuring that credentials remain portable, resilient, and independent of the original issuer.
Anchor & Verify
For maximum assurance, credentials can be anchored into transparency logs or distributed ledgers, ensuring immutability and global auditability. Verification occurs through a dedicated API, enabling third parties to confirm authenticity, lineage, and integrity in a privacy-preserving way. The verifier API consults the registries directly—without contacting the issuer—ensuring scalable independence and eliminating single points of trust. Relying parties consume only the verified results, while the architectural separation between trust material, issuance, and verification guarantees transparency, reliability, and long-term resilience.
